Topical Fluoride treatment
A topical fluoride varnish is usually applied at the end of the treatment. Fluoride is recommended for children and adults if they have a history of caries, dry mouth, poor oral hygiene habits or impaired dexterity with self care. Fluoride remineralizes the enamel and exposed roots of the teeth protecting them from decay and sensitivity. A small amount of site-specific varnish is used, which is the most effective method of application.
